Shiseido Integrate gel liner in BK999 (0.28g) – Made in Germany
I bought this cos it seemed to be a favourite among Japanese beauty magazine readers. But the size of the nib is too big for my liking and unlike a pencil it can’t be sharpened. Also the performance is inconsistent – sometimes it smudges, sometimes no. Despite no change in the steps leading to or out prior. Repurchase? Nope.
Kate slim gel pencil in BK-1 (0.12g) – Made in Japan
Now this is a liner I know I can count on. I took this with me on my holidays and with daily use it lasted around one month. This has less than half the product of the Integrate liner though. Repurchase? Staple.
Here’s a comparison photo with nibs from different liners. The UD acts as your average, typical pencil liner. You can see the Integrate is just slightly slimmer than that. Visée is the thinnest (mentioned a few entries below). KATE and dejavu are the same in diameter. I’ll write about the Dejavu one eventually but lets just say for now that I don’t reach for it often despite it having the best staying power.
Quite a number of products this month! Woohoo~
Sad but empties are an accomplishment for me.
Chanel Gentle Biphase Eye makeup Remover (100ml)
Do I really need to turn to Chanel for an eye makeup remover? Probably not. But did I like this? Yes, a lot. It was my second (third?) bottle and is hands down my favourite eye makeup remover.
It takes off stubborn waterproof eyeliners (like NARS’ and Armani’s) and mascaras easily when others struggled. I’ve tried a few: (more…)
Everything from Citypharma except the Nivea sunscreen and Bourjois foundation
Everyone knows about the Citypharma, the para-pharmacy that’s said to be the cheapest in Paris, sometimes up to 20% of a markdown. It’s in all the travel guides (I imagine) and all over the internet. I happened to just walk into it years ago without knowing its fame, as I used to live in the area and I would always walk past it while on my way to Pierre Hermé, and be intrigued by the non-stop number of people going in and out.
It’s been a while! I’ve got no excuses. Here’s to get the ball rolling – empties!
Title says ‘May Empties’ but they’ve been put aside for a couple of months – meant for an empties post. So this is everything I’ve accumulated during my MIA. They are mostly creams, I hardly finish makeup …
dermophil Moisturizing Hand Care (75ml)
dermophil (as far as I know) is an old brand best known for their moisturising balm in a stick. It’s like a swivel stick lip balm only 10 times the size, called dermophil indien and you can only buy it at pharmacies because it’s marketed as a kind of medical treatment. The stick is excellent for extremely dry skin, cracks from cold weather and so on. The company has branched out and I’ve noticed quite a few of their products for hands and lips at the supermarket since beginning of the year. They are not sold under the name dermophil indien, just dermophil. I see it as more daily, ‘casual’ use. The hand care cream I tried was purchased from my local monoprix. (more…)
